چکیده
Hybridization is a fundamental evolutionary and ecological process with significant conservation ramifications. Sea turtle hybridization occurs at unusually high frequencies along the northeastern coast of Brazil. To better understand process, we studied reproductive output, migration patterns (through satellite telemetry), isotopic niches loggerhead turtles Caretta caretta olive ridley Lepidochelys olivacea their hybrids. We classified 154 nesting females as (n = 91), 38), or hybrid 25) based on mitochondrial nuclear DNA. Further, compared female morphological data parameters (clutch size, emergence success, hatchling production, incubation period) 405 nests among hybrids parental species. found no differences 3 groups when production was corrected for body indicating that species produce similar numbers hatchlings per clutch. Satellite tracking 8 post-nesting revealed shared foraging grounds both species, well neritic migrations between areas to those previously reported loggerheads ridleys. Analyses 13 C 15 N isotope values 69) further confirmed this pattern, overlapped extensively Thus, given similarities presented in reproductive, ecological, behavioral characteristics, conclude these may persist other sea populations area, research implications.

Foraging areas differentially affect reproductive output and interpretation of trends in abundance of loggerhead turtles
(31.89°n, 80.97°W), between 2004 and 2011 with resulting possible fitness effects. Stable isotope analysis was used to assign the adult female loggerheads to one of three foraging areas in the northwest atlantic Ocean. Our data indicate that foraging area preference influences the size, fecundity, and breeding periodicity of adult female loggerhead turtles. We also found that the proportion of ...

Marine turtles are large reptiles that compensate for high juvenile mortality by producing hundreds of hatchlings during a long reproductive lifespan. Most hatchlings are taken by predators during their migration to, and while resident in, the open ocean. Their survival depends upon crypticity, minimizing movement to avoid detection, and foraging efficiently to grow to a size too difficult for ...

investigation of single-user and multi-user detection methods in mc-cdma systems and comparison of their performances
